Rehab New Zealand´s service philosophy is based on the belief that comprehensive, objective and timely assessment of a persons needs helps prevent chronic disability and that rehabilitation should be based on the individuals goals. We believe that any disability whether congenital, accidental or health related has a physical, psychological, social and environmental component.
Our inter-disciplinary team approach enables the best provision of services to address the physical, psychological, social or environment facets of disability. Our clinicians apply their extensive knowledge and expertise during assessments, using a bio-psychosocial approach.
We consider not only the client (as a single entity) but the family/whanau and support people who have an important role in the client´s well-being as well as those who might be needed for extra support to the client going forward and this is where we target education and support.
An important part of this process is the collection and evaluation of a wide range of community resources and making them accessible to the client. We will continue to develop and foster meaningful relationships with communities and support agencies to enable us to deliver fully informed services to enable long-term support systems for the client in the community.
Rehab New Zealand believes in providing a safe and supportive working environment, we actively encourage, promote and facilitate ongoing professional development for all clinicians.
